FORMER Black Marroko Chiefs (BMC) F.C. and Ramblers F.C. player Likius Hafeni has made history by becoming the first Namibia to date to be appointed as head coach in the USA when he was appointed head coach of Capital Futbol Club (CFC) in U.S. League two division.

Their season will only start on May 19 against West Seattle Junction F.C., which will be Hafeni’s first taste as head coach since being appointed last month. CFC is a club based in Salem, Oregon. Hafeni has been in Salem since 2009, when he decided to make it his home, focusing on furthering his education and beginning his coaching career.

Hafeni’s coaching career:

In 2015, Hafeni was an assistant coach at Willamette University; in 2016, he was an assistant coach at Vancouver Victory before becoming head coach from 2016 to 2018 at Corban University’s Women’s program.
