Health Ministry budget allocation not enough: Muinjangue

DEPUTY health minister Ester Muinjangue says the budget allocation for the ministry is not enough to meet all of the needs.

This came after finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi allocated N$ 10.9 billion in his national budget presentation, of which N$450 million will go towards constructing a hospital in the Havana informal settlement.

In his budget presentation, Shiimi said the ministry has invested millions in the project, and earthworks for the project will begin soon.

“Up to N$450 million has been allocated to the health ministry for the development and expansion of primary health care centres and clinics throughout the country, as well as to improve the capacity of referral hospital services,” the minister said.

However, Muinjangue said the budget will never be enough because social needs, diseases, and public health threats change constantly, but I am satisfied with what we have as a ministry,” she said.
