Hinda to defend MMA African Championships title in Angola

TOP mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Veja Hinda will defend his African Championships title in Angola from September 14 to 17.

Although devoid of international competitions this year, the 26-year-old MMA fighter says he has been busy training to be in shape ahead of his title defence in Angola.

“Right now, I’m getting ready for the African Championships. You should expect me to perform outstandingly because I am the African champion. This year has been extremely unpredictable. I participated in the World Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, at the Štark Arena in February. In the first round, I defeated Mo Zubair of England by guillotine choke and lost to Mika Rasanen of Finland by a split decision in the following round,” Hinda said.

Even though sponsorship continues to be a major problem, not just for him but for the rest of the codes, Hinda, who is presently ranked seventh in the world in the featherweight division and first in Africa, has a bright future ahead of him.
