Hollard in fresh N$16m Am Weinberg woes

MONS Vinum Leisure (Pty) Ltd which previously operated the Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel is demanding over N$16 million from insurance firm, Hollard, citing business interruption caused by the pandemic, Confidente has established.

The Windhoek-situated luxury hotel is now operated by Gondwana since February 1. Gondwana has also sued Hollard for business interruption due to Covid-19.

Summons seen by Confidente show that Mons Vinum Leisure is alleging that in terms of the insurance contract signed with Hollard, it should be compensated for a period of 18 months in respect of an insured event falling within the ambit of the Covid-19 clause.
