The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security has announced that they have served 110,620 people with the conclusion of its Mass Registration programme.
The Mass Registration programme ran from February 5, 2024, to July 13, 2024. It focused on registering births, processing applications for national documents, and issuing duplicate birth certificates and identity documents (ID) across all 14 country regions.

The programme had a total of 110,620 people served, reflecting the Ministry’s commitment to providing essential civil registration services to all citizens.
During this period, the Ministry registered 31,135 births, issued 6,194 duplicate birth certificates, processed 32,501 new ID applications, and handled 12,939 requests for duplicate ID documents.
The Ministry attributes the programme’s success to the unwavering dedication of its staff members, who worked tirelessly to meet the needs of the public. Additionally, the Ministry extends its gratitude to the regional councillors,
whose cooperation was instrumental in identifying registration points and mobilizing communities.

Though the Mass Registration programme officially ended on July 13, 2024, the Ministry continues to provide civil registration services through its offices nationwide. Citizens are encouraged to visit their nearest office to apply for national
documents. Members of the public who have applied for identity documents and have yet to collect them are urged to collect their identity documents from the offices where such applications were submitted. The Ministry’s efforts to ensure that every citizen has access to vital civil registration services underscore its commitment to national development and social inclusion. Ministry remains committed to providing “Legal Identity for All” in line with Goal 16 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
