Iimbondi breaks silence on Tigers departure

BRAVE Warriors attacker Absalom Iimbondi says his move from Tigers FC to newly promoted Debmarine Premiership side Khomas NamPol FC was simply from greener pastures.
Iimbondi (31) joined Tigers from Golden Bigs Brother in 2011 and won the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Cup in 2015 with Tigers and a league title in 2016.

After years with Shandumbala outfits, the playmaker opted to abandon ship for Khomas NamPol, where he has found a new lease of life at his new home and has already struck the back of the net three times from three matches, with two goals coming in a 2-1 win against his former side Tigers.
Speaking to Confidente after scoring in a 3-0 win against Civics last Sunday, Iimbondo, who teased Tigers fans after scoring against his former side, stated that he still has a soft spot for Tigers and has no personal issues with the club.
His three goals in the Debmarine Premiership helped Khomas NamPol climb to the top of the table with nine points from three games.

“It is a blessing to be a part of this club (NamPol), and it is one of the greatest, not the greatest, but one of the best clubs I have ever been a part of. Scoring three goals in a few days is not something I expected. Therefore, I won’t quit but instead will compete for top scorer.
“
