In life and in death with Mara van Wyk

FOLLOWING the passing of her husband, brother and both parents, Mara van Wyk has dedicated her life to taking care of the deceased making sure that human dignity is maintained even at death.

Unknown to many, the job of being an undertaker comes with intense pressure and sleepless nights.

Speaking to Confidente this week, Van Wyk explains how she ended up in the funeral service business which now employs two temporary workers with her being the owner and the permanent employee responsible for beautifying, preparing, cleaning and dressing remains.
