Josephat wins Leg 6

ONE of the country’s leading Go-Karting driver Russel Josephat has won the Namibian National Championship Leg six event that was held the recently at the famous Tony Rust race track at the outskirts of Windhoek.
Josephat (9) has established himself as one of the best Go-karter, not only in the country but also abroad, notably in neighbpouring South Africa where he took part in several competitions.
Josephat, who started Go-karting at the tender age of six, was also defending his national title which he also won last year.
A big fan of Lewis Hamilton of Britain, who is regarded as one of ,if not the greatest Formula One driver of all-time, Josephat also has a dream to one day follow in the footsteps of his idol.
“It was my father and my uncle that gave me the best kart lessons on the day, with lots of preparations. This was the last race for the year. I have won all the six legs this year.
As far next season is concerned, it is my dad that will have to decide but I still have to master the class. I am currently in the micro max class,” said Josephat.
In May this year, Josephat was awarded a whopping N$50 000 sponsorship from the country’s leading telecommunication giant MTC in order to support his racing journey.
