The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) and the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) Bali have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote tourism cooperation between Namibia and Indonesia.
The agreement was formalised at a signing ceremony held in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, on June 13, 2025. The partnership aims to strengthen collaboration between the two destinations and develop sustainable tourism growth. The MoU provides a framework for promoting joint tourism marketing, facilitating familiarization trips, and encouraging business-to-business engagements between industry players from both countries.
Under the agreement, Namibia and Bali will exchange tourism-related information, media delegations, and social media influencers to promote their respective destinations to new audiences. The two organisations also committed to developing collaborative tour packages, supporting training initiatives, and encouraging participation in trade fairs, conferences, and tourism exhibitions hosted in both countries.
The agreement further includes provisions for sustainable tourism projects focused on community engagement and environmental responsibility. The MoU has been designed to accommodate additional areas of cooperation as agreed upon by both parties and does not impose any immediate financial obligations.
Speaking at the event, Namibia Tourism Board CEO Digu //Naobeb described the partnership as an opportunity to expand Namibia’s visibility within the Asian travel market. The agreement reflects both parties’ commitment to supporting tourism as a contributor to economic growth, cultural exchange, and strengthened bilateral relations between Namibia and Indonesia.
The MoU will remain in effect until it is amended or terminated by mutual agreement.
