Infighting rocks Swapo women’s council in Epukiro

INFIGHTING between Swapo Party Women’s Council (SPWC) members at Epukiro district in Omaheke region erupted last month after the party’s district conference where it is alleged that one member used the membership card of another to participate in the October elective congress.

On October 18 a district conference and renewal of councillor’s mandate was held at the Kambanderu community hall and it is alleged that the restructuring of sections and the appointments of the district mobiliser and treasurer were illegal.

It is alleged that Utia-Patie Kangootui used Saransiena Mbuangura’s party card who lives in Windhoek to participate in the women’s council district elections.
