Kasivibe 7 promises an amazing festival

PREPARATIONS for the seventh edition of the Kasivibe Festival that is set to take place this weekend are underway and the organising committee promises a bigger and even better event full of surprises. The festival will be at the Sam Nujoma stadium and runs from Friday to Sunday evening.

“This time around, we will have amazing exhibitors that will provide exciting and interesting products, which we believe many people would want to find at the festival,” said event organiser Salmi Shigwedha.

The initiative, which launched in 2017 with two editions and about 40 exhibitors at each, has since grown to a quarterly event that gives a business platform to more than 60 exhibitors.

With the aim of creating a platform closer to the Katutura community, the festival has become a highly anticipated family event that attracts people of all ages who flock to the food and drinks stalls, take part in recreational activities and enjoy the variety of local products and services.

“This time around, we will have a lot of entertainment, especially from the DJs because we focus more on giving an opportunity to our local DJs compared to the musicians. We do have a few performers on the line-up that we know will blow the crowd away,” Shigwedha promised.

The much talked about sixth edition attracted at least 12,000 visitors over the three-day festival and organisers are hoping the number of visitors will be even greater this time around.

Shigwedha said, “We expect more and more people to attend the last edition [of the year], we have made plans to make sure we close off on a good note. To those who missed out on the last edition, this is your chance to experience Kasivibe.”

Regarding security matters, Shigwedha said the committee has gone out of its way to prioritise safety at the event so that festival-goers can relax and have an amazing time without any concern.
