Klazen addresses forced fishing marriages

MINISTER of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Derek Klazen has moved to address forced fishing rights marriages that have in the recent past become a cause for conflict and failed government’s agenda to create jobs in the industry.

Fishing rights are allocated via joint ventures where the holding company must comprise of five companies each holding 20 percent.

This is known to appear as a deal-breaker to many right holders since they are required to work together with people they did not know before with different cultural backgrounds and different business ideas and strategies.
