Kunene, hotspot of contagious scabies

WITH the increasing number of cases of human scabies in the country recently, Kunene region has recorded the highest number of over 1 000 cases in 11 weeks, Confidente has learnt.

According to the health ministry, Kunene had the highest number of infections followed by Ohangwena with 708 cases recorded in the disease outbreak from January to March this year which totalled 3 454 during that period.

According to the ministry statistics, Otjozondjupa recorded the third highest with 402 cases, followed by Kavango West 375, Kavango East 204, Omusati 130, Oshana 104, Omaheke 46, Hardap 20, Oshikoto 20, Erongo 17,

//Karas 10 while Zambezi and the Khomas regions with no cases recorded so far.
