Lüderitz to reject ‘secret’ power deal

RATEPAYERS at Lüderitz are preparing to challenge what appears to be a clandestine attempt by a private firm to take over the supply of electricity at the town through an agreement that the residents say is highly “secretive and suspicious”.  The contract for the establishment of the Joint Venture company between the municipality and the Walvis Bay based engineering firm was approved in record time by the Auditor General’s Office, despite the matter not having been brought before council.
