Man wins big against Swakop Uranium

SWAKOP Uranium has been instructed by the High Court to reinstate and pay close to N$1 million in loss of income to its former technical coordinator who was fired from the company for using an alleged racial slur in an internal email.

The mining company largely owned by Chinese directors which also employs a number of Chinese nationals dismissed Cyril Möller in October 2017, for using the words ‘ching chong pang’  saying the words are disrespectful and racially derogatory and are chiefly employed by English-speakers to mock the Chinese.
