MET pays out N$1.4 million in two years

THE Ministry of Environment and Tourism paid out a total of N$1.4 million between January 2019 and March 2021 to bereaved families across the country that lost relatives due to human-wildlife conflict.
The financial assistance was provided in the form of covering funeral expenses to those who lost their family members.
In 2019, six people lost their lives due to human-wildlife conflict and the ministry paid out of N$ 600 000 to the families; translating to N$100 000 per affected family.
