Ministers’ Performance: Nothing much above the hum-drum

LOOKING back, one only finds a little to discuss regarding the Cabinet ministers’ performance this year. Most of the ministers followed the wind, with a few, such as Tom Alweendo and Calle Schlettwein, rising above the hum-drum of what was expected of them.

Their performance in no particular order:

International Relations & Cooperation: Netumbo Nandi- Ndaitwah

On the international front, apart from events such as agreements and summits, Nandi-Ndaitwa was overshadowed by the green hydrogen projects run by the State House. Her presence in Brussels during the EU-Namibia Business Forum was subdued. However, she took a position not to sign the Samoa Agreement. The agreement was later signed without explaining whether the concerns had been addressed. There was not much from the position of deputy Prime Minister. This may be because Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila is a strong character and is always available.
