Miss Namibia 2024 Pledges To Fight Poverty

Prisca Anyolo (28) was crowned Miss Namibia during the coronation ceremony at the Lüderitz Waterfront on Saturday. Leena Mugena was chosen as the first runner-up, while Georgia Garises emerged as the second runner-up. Prisca Anyolo, a media practitioner, impressed judges with her top five questions after being asked what her guilty pleasure is.
“My guilty pleasure in life, honesty truly is to be an amazing representative of the Namibian people, especially our cultures and that is why I love dressing up in different tribes and cultures that represent the different people that we have in Namibia.” “I think it is very important for us to be a very unified front. That is why I feel that as your Miss Namibia I don’t stand in front of you as Prisca Anyolo – No.”
“I stand before you, representing every single woman from every from every tribe culture, profession, ethnic group, demographic and age of Namibia. When that crown is on my head, it is all Namibian women that are pegged within my crown,” she said. She has pledged to expand her advocacy by eradicating poverty.
“I am driven to come up with practical solutions to address poverty such as facilitating though-provoking conversations and awareness campaigns in collaboration with food provision industry experts and Namibian companies. This includes providing education, infrastructure and opportunities.”
“Crowning gardens is my first attempt at implementing self-sustainable practices for food security I vulnerable communities and I seeking tangible ways to increase our standard of living by secondly advocating for entrepreneurial innovation in our nation. Together, let’s eradicate poverty one sustainable project at a time,” said Anyolo. Anyolo also participated in Miss Namibia 2022, finishing in the top 12. Her journey showed her resilient character by winning the pageant on her second attempt.
She thanked all those who stood beside her during the journey. “I am so unbelievably proud of myself. I stand on the shoulders of a powerful team that worked tirelessly to help me along this journey, from training, to executing my advocacy, speaking, hair and makeup, wardrobe and photoshoots. It truly took a village and I am so grateful for each and every one of you.”

“Last but not least, to my fellow pageant finalists, this road was not easy, but we made it. I am so proud of you. You each taught me something & these memories we created will stay with me forever,” she said. The special awards of the pageant were the Public Choice Award, awarded to Hazel Garus-Oas; Miss Congeniality, which went to Georgia Garises; and Miss Photogenic, which was awarded to Preclina Sagarias.By winning Miss Namibia 2024, Prisca Anyolo will represent Namibia at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant to be held in Mexico later this year.
