CURRENT Miss Namibia title holder Chelsi Shikongo has joined the 99FM family with a new vodcast interviewing influential women in the male dominated entertainment industry.

In episode one of the first series, Shikongo talks to female disc jockey, DJ Roxy, while in the second episode she spoke to singer Shana and comedian Zita, about life in the public eye.

Popular faces such as Maria Nepembe, Sunet Van Wyk, award winning actress Girlie Jazama and veteran musician Liz Ehlers also appear on show.

“I believe going into radio and TV is a natural progression for me and I’m really excited doing so. I’ve always been a good talker and what better way to use my skills with a media career. I’m learning so much, and my vodcast is only the start for 99FM.

“I’ve done many interviews before on radio and TV so I’m very familiar with studios but to be the presenter is a very different experience. I learnt so much on the first day to take through to the next programme,” Shikongo said.

She further highlighted that apart from the vodcast, she is now also doing a daily radio show on 99FM with rapper Skrypt which started beginning of May.

“I’m working on my own TV show ideas too, so joining the broadcast world is turning out to be a very exciting and busy time for me,” she added.

Shikongo won Miss Namibia 2021 making it her first-ever title, and the only winner of the title from Walvis Bay.

She was also among the top five contestants that received the most public votes at Miss Universe that was hosted in Israel last year.
