Mixed feelings over Covid vaccine

RELIGION leaders in Namibia have mixed feelings on the AstraZeneca vaccine that will be rolled out by the government later this month. Namibia is set to receive over 120 000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, Minister of Health and Social Services, Kalumbi Shangula confirmed to Confidente.
The Council of Churches in Namibia (CCN) general secretary Ludwig Beukes, Jewish community religious leader Zvi Gorelick, and Namibia’s Muslim leader Sheikh Muhammad Negumbo have expressed contrasting views on the matter.
Speaking to Confidente, CCN the umbrella organisation for major Christian churches, will do its best to allay misconceptions, but is of the view that social media has so far contributed in misleading when it comes to information about the vaccine.
