NAMIB Rise and Shine Minerals owner, Teckla Mutero, was on Friday inducted into Namibia Business Hall Fame category for emerging entrepreneurs at a function that took place in the capital, Windhoek.

Mutero, who is not a first-time inductee, is an alumni of the Patience Masua Foundation (PMF) Village Africa Bootcamp that took place two years ago in neighboring South Africa.

Sharing her delight at the news, PMF Founder, Patience Masua, told Confidente, she was extremely proud of Mutero’s achievement.

She said Mutero’s success can be attributed to her grit, tenacity and fighting spirit.

It is important that young people engage in entrepreneurial activities in order for them to be able to create jobs and grow the country’s economy,” Masua said.

“I congratulate Mutero on this exceptional milestone and hope her business endeavors continue to flourish.

It is important that young people uplift society through entrepreneurship. I also believe that as lawmakers we should endeavor to develop through legislation, an ecosystem that creates an appetite for entrepreneurship and develops many more Teckla Mutero’s,” Masua added.

Namibia Business Hall of Fae Managing Director, Johanna Cloete, said Mutero was selected amongst eleven other nominees and was inducted into the club of distinguished business people because of her ingenuity, commitment to ethical business practices and her drive for economic change through the support of small and emerging miners.

“The committee decided to induct Teckla because of her change driven organisation and her ability to market and network opportunities for aspiring small-scale players in the mining industry. She not only pursues opportunities for herself but opens doors for others to participate as well”, Cloete told Confidente.

“We have been watching her for a few years, she came on the scene five years ago, around 2017, and what amazes us athe most is her resourcefulness and networking ability. She doesn’t make connections only for herself but has become a critical part of the networking community by becoming that chain that links the small-scale Namibian mining industry to the world,” Cloete added.

A childhood friend of Mutero and member of her small miner’s association, Magnes Mulekesa, told Confidente that Mutero was deserving of the award because of her drive and passion not only to uplift herself but to uplift others as well.

“She is a young and energetic Namibian woman who I have known since childhood.

When she started the Emerging Miner’s Association of Namibia, she registered me and taught me a lot about registering for claims in the field of mining and working towards exploring those claims.

“I did not know what an Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL) was but Teckla through her association was able to give me knowledge and training in that field.
