Muukua unhappy with Pre-Season Netball Cup turnout by teams

• By Staff Reporter

CHAIRPERSON of the recently held Pre-Season Netball Cup, Charles Muukua, has expressed his disappointment and concerns regarding the absence of many netball clubs from the tournament held in Walvis Bay the past weekend.

Muukua said this when asked by the media how the tournament was and the number of teams that took part in the pre-season tournament that only attracted four clubs. In contrast, more clubs were expected to participate in the first-ever pre-season Netball Cup.

Young Eleven won the pre-season tournament, slated to Start This Weekend, as a curtain-raiser to the forthcoming Erongo Region Netball League.

Initially, the tournament, which was scheduled for March, was changed at the last minute due to the state funeral of the late President Hage Geingob. It was also Muukua’s initiative to hold a pre-season, having served in football for seven years.
