My enemies envy my NDF credentials – Nathinge

August 26 Holdings chairperson Brigadier General Fillimon Shafashike ordered the freezing of entrepreneur Jeremiah Penda Shikongo’s bank accounts after signing a N$2.5m joint venture with August 26 Logistics in May.

The Namibia Defence Force owns August 26 Holdings, which has 51 per cent shares in August 26 Logistics.

The South African businessman Sarel Oberholzer has 25 per cent, and the late former Windhoek mayor Mathew Shikongo owns 24 per cent.

Jeremiah Penda Shikongo is Mathew Shikongo’s son.

August 26 Logistics has already found the managing director, Salatiel Ntinda, and chief financial officer Kallie Nel guilty of releasing the N.

5m without the board’s approval.

August 26 Holdings also recalled Brigadier General Paulus Nathinge, the August 26 Logistics board chairperson at the time, because of the transaction.

He awaits his fate.

The August 26 Logistics board now comprise Kelvin Thembikozi (chairperson), the South African business and shareholder,  Oberholzer; NDF chief of staff Retoveni Muhenje, the businesswoman Johanna Shikongo, and Alpha Nekomba, the secretary of the board.
