AN$55 million extortion case docket of Aletta van Wyk, a South African citizen, turned Namibian has disappeared from police archive, a police insider has confirmed.
According to the police source, “little investigation was done” and the docket has gone into hibernation.
Van Wyk obtained her Namibian citizenship in September 2020 after she renounced her South African citizenship.
She is accused of lying under oath in her attempt to implicate British businessman, Harvey Boulter who she alleges held a gun to her late husband’s head.
Van Wyk is said to have lied with the aim of extorting N million from Boulter.
Her application for citizenship was rejected by former Home Affairs Permanent Secretary, Patrick Nandago in 2018.
Van Wyk, who was employed on Boulter’s farm since 2012, before she changed her South African citizen, claims she had been working in Namibia for 30 years.
