N$583 million dedicated to Covid vaccine rollout

THE Minister of Health and Social Services Kalumbi Shangula has said more than N$583 million has been budgeted for the Namibia Deployment and Vaccination Plan for Covid-19 vaccines expected in the country next month.
Shangula mentioned this at the 25th Covid-19 briefing saying that of the N3 068 783.
84 budgeted, N4 800 000 will be used for actual procurement of the vaccines.
“This will enable Namibia to procure vaccines for additional 40 percent of the population to attain 60 percent vaccination coverage,” he said.
Shangula further revealed that China had pledged to donate 100 000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine while India pledged to donate 30 000 doses of the vaccine from the Serum Institute of India.
