Naked canal bathers warned

… police will issue spot fines



POLICE in Omusati have warned residents of the region who bath in the Namwater canal that they will face the ire of the law if they do not stop the indecent practice. This is according to police regional commander for Omusati commissioner Titus Shikongo in an interview with Confidente this week.

According to Shikongo, hordes of people, both men and women, bath totally naked in the canal which is an eyesore to people living along the canal as well as travellers driving along the Outapi-Ruacana main road. These people, Shikongo said, will be punished by the police in accordance with the applicable laws.
