Nam creates jobs through Biomass Value Chain

Executive Director of the Ministry of Labour, Lydia Indombo, presided over a pivotal roundtable focusing on the biomass value chain and its potential for job creation in Namibia.

Namibia’s role as a United Nations Pathfinder Country in the Global Accelerator (GA) of Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions addressed critical issues surrounding youth unemployment strategies.

According to Indombo, emphasis was placed on creating a pipeline of programs and projects that could generate decent work opportunities, particularly for Namibian youth. Training programs tailored to the biomass sector, such as those focused on harvesting, processing, and biofuel production, were introduced by implementing critical components of tax relief.
