Namibia, a safe place – Afrobarometer survey

THREE out of four Namibians consider their country a safe place to live, a recent Afrobarometer survey indicates.

Afrobarometer is a pan-African, non-partisan survey research network that collects and disseminates accurate data on African experiences and assessments of democracy, governance, and quality of life.

The same proportion of citizens says safety and security has improved in Namibia over the past five years – even as increasing numbers report fear of crime.

Since 1999, eight survey rounds in up to 39 countries have been conducted. The ninth round of surveys (2021/2022) is now ongoing.
