Namwater artisans cry foul over grading

EMPLOYEES at Namwater are accusing the company of unfair discrimination and for not paying their back pay for over 17 years.

According to the employees in 2003 all artisans were to be moved from C1 grading to C2 grading and compensated accordingly however this was not done.

Confidente was  further informed that, on October 16 2003 the former chairperson and chief: strategy officer Welbert Ockhuizen held a meeting with the operations and human resources departments to discuss the grading and re-organisation of the operations department.
