DESPITE rumours circulating that coach of Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) netball club, Manuel Mansie Tjivera was relieved of his duties; NCS sport officer Absalom Mushaandja has rubbished the claims saying that Tjivera remains the coach.Tjivera led NCS to the first edition of the MTC Netball Premier League in October, however there were rumours recently stating that Tjivera had fallen out of favour with the management of NCS and that he has a poor relationship with some players.

Responding to Confidente Sport, Mushaandja cleared the air by saying that Tjivera will again spearhead the team next season.

“Who said that? It is news to me. As far I know he (Manuel) is still the coach and he will still be in charge next season. If he has resigned or relieved from his position then I do not know about it. Maybe you must ask him. There will be terms and conditions next season that will be set out by the club,” said Mushaandja.

Tjivera also told Confidente Sport that he is still in charge of the team after saying that he has a good relationship with the management of the club.

“This is news to me. At NCS they know how to work with people,” he said.

Tjivera is to date perhaps the country’s most successful netball coach, having won five league Khomas Region League titles with University of Namibia (UNAM) from 2014 to 2018 and in 2017, he led the senior women netball, the Desert Jewels to a third place finish at the Debmarine Pent Series before leading them to gold at the 2018 series.
