NCS shows signs of jelling under Tuaire

NAMIBIA Correctional Services (NCS) Netball Club’s new coach, Salomon ‘Teri’ Tuaire, says his team has begun to gel after a sluggish start to the MTC Namibian Netball Premier League (NNPL) season.

Tuaire assumed the role this season and sought to lead NCS to their second MTC NNPL championship in three years.

NCS won the inaugural competition in 2021 before losing the championship to Mighty Gunners of Otjiwarongo last year.

Speaking to Confidente, Tuaire outlined factors that contributed to the team’s poor start, including hiring new players after some players left the team in search of better opportunities.

NCS goal-attack Louise ‘Dreamy’ Kausehue left for the defending champs Mighty Gunners, while there are rumours that she will return.

“It was not the start we hoped for, not taking anything away from such a highly competitive league with amazing teams. We got a huge blow, losing to Mighty Gunners in our first match. Several factors contributed to this, including that we had only begun training recently and thus lacked significant play structure, finding effective combinations, and mental toughness (especially given that we were playing the defending champions).
