Nicanor appointed NASCAM CEO

• By Martha Nangombe

ALBERT Nicanor will take over as NASCAM (Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music) chief executive officer (CEO) from August 1, following an independent committee’s thorough recruitment and selection process.

Nicanor will take over from John Max, who resigned in December 2022.

The NASCAM Board of Directors announced the appointment, which stipulated that Nicanor offers the collective management society various inspirational and thought leadership abilities.

“With his demonstrated track record as a manager at New Era Investment, as deputy director and development planner at the Ministry of Justice, as financial and technical advisor at Lux-Development, and as financial and administration manager at RoshSkor Township, he is well positioned to lead NASCAM into its next phase of growth and success.

“We are happy to welcome Nicanor as our new CEO, and the Board is looking forward to seeing him realise NASCAM’s full potential as a preeminent collective management society committed to improving our services for music writers, composers, and publishers,” said the board member, Knowledge Ipinge.
