‘No investigations’ on missing police guns

THE Namibian police force is allegedly sitting on investigations regarding the 90 firearms that went missing from Windhoek police depot a month ago, and were suspected to be in the hands of criminals.

A source within the police force expressed her concerns to Confidente stating that, it is worrisome and shocking that the officers in charge have decided to just verify the firearms and will not investigate the matter.

“We were told all of a sudden that the issue of missing of guns is not going to be investigated. We are eager to know who the culprits are because we already know that they are within the police force, and they are trying to protect them because they might lose their jobs if found guilty. This is the reason why they are not investigating the matter they just told us that they will have to do a verification regarding the matter.
