THE Northern SME Expo initiated by Nashville Investments has been launched and will be held from the December 2 to 6 in Ondangwa.
Nashville Investments in a statement stated that the expo aims to provide a platform for Namibia’s small to medium enterprises to promote and market their products and services to different business industries, as well as to the public.
“Apart from presenting a highly effective showcase for exhibitors active in the SME sector, the organisers aim to host the exhibition yearly and expand the showcase.”
The expo hosts local exhibits, regional and international exhibitors and also features fun activities to attract travel enthusiasts, foodies, friends and the public at large.
The expo is sponsored by Chicco Group of Companies, Indongo Toyota, Energy 100, Namibia Chamber of Commerce (NCCI) Ondangwa and Jupita Security Company.
Speaking at the launch, NCCI Ondangwa chairperson Mario Uupite applauded the initiators of the Northern SME Expo saying that it’s not every day that young people find an interest in creating opportunities for other people.
“Ondangwa is a great town with so many resources and opportunities, a province of growth and development, and the Northern SME Expo is evident that our SME is also a driving force and vehicle towards the growth of our economy,” he said.
He further stated that the expo caters specifically for small and medium enterprises, and therefore is a platform for many business owners to view the potential the country has and create possible business relationships.
Uupite said that the event is thus far the only opportunity created for northern SMEs to showcase their products.
“Namibia has many expos and trade fairs, but none specifically crafted for the SMEs. This initiative is worth applauding. SMEs are mass contributors to the GDP growth in Namibia and beyond, and hence the necessity of events such as the Swakopmund SME expo.
