NSC to spend N$145 000 on All-Africa Games medal winners
• by Michael Uugwanga
At the All-African Games, held in Accra, Ghana, from March 08 to March 23, it took athletes nearly two months to win several medals in different sports codes. Namibia collected ten medals overall.
Swimming won five medals, and wrestling, cricket, discus, cycling, and athletics each won a trophy.
Against this background, the Cabinet approved the National Sports Reward Policy Document in 2018, which aims to reward athletes who have won medals at various international competitions.
The document covers events such as the Olympics and Paralympic Games, World Championships, All-Africa Games, African Championships and Special Olympics.
