NUDO softly suffocates Kandorozu’s political ambitions

• By Kaipaherue Kandjii

The National Unity Democratic Organization (NUDO) has stripped one of its longest-serving politicians of his credentials following his purported expulsion.

The party lifted its suspension and expelled its members following a fallout from a fight for its top hierarchy.

The decision to lift the expulsion and suspension of its members, including its former long-serving decorated councillor of the Okakarara constituency, Vetaruhe Kandorozu, was adopted during its recent meeting of its National Council – its highest decision-making organ between Congresses.

Kandorozu is widely perceived as a thorn in the flesh of the NUDO top brass, albeit losing against a faction led by its president, Utjiua Muinjangue, and its secretary-general Joseph Kauandenge, before his expulsion for “sowing” anarchy. A letter drafted by its vice-chairman, Kapukatua Kuvare, says Kandorozu’s suspension is over. He will rejoin the party as a “new” member without any posts he and his cohort held.

This seemingly means Kandorozu cannot contest for the presidency at NUDO envisaged Congress when Muinjangue’s term ends, and therefore, Kauandenge will smoothly sail into the race without any qualms.
