Nust, former registrar in messy labour battle

NAMIBIA University of Science and Technology (Nust) and its former registrar Maurice Garde are locked in a messy labour battle after the institution rejected a request to have conciliation proceedings done virtually.

Garde filed a labour case of constructive dismissal against Nust last September and the conciliation was scheduled to be heard on March 17 at the Office of the Labour Commissioner in Windhoek. However, the matter could not proceed due to the fact Garde was out of the country and as a result he requested the proceeding to be conducted virtually.
