NUST new panel to probe Naomab

• By Kaipaherue Kandjii

The Namibian University of Science and Technology (NUST) governing council is seeking to appoint, yet again, a new panel of independent experts to investigate its vice-chancellor (VC), Dr Erold Naomab.

This follows a new instruction by the ACC to the NUST Council, which, albeit confirming that they were investigating Naomab, has since referred the issue back to the NUST Council to probe its vice chancellor and compile a report that will guide the anti-graft agency.

Naomab faces a myriad of alleged crimes during his stint, which, amongst others, include nepotism, corruption and abuse of credit cards entrusted to him by his employer, NUST.

In January this year, ACC’s chief public relations officer, Josephina Nghituwamata, confessed that an investigation into Naomab’s conduct was underway, although she refused to disclose its status.
