By  Michael  Uugwanga

AS part of Special Olympic Namibia’s (SON) mission to promote sports among children and people with intellectual impairments by providing year-round training and activities, the organisation held a 25-meter sprinting event on Saturday at the Katutura Youth Complex in Windhoek.

The celebration began with the lighting of the Special Olympics torch and hoisting the Special Olympics flag.

The event was part of SON’s four-day training for coaches from various locations to provide them with the skills and information necessary to coach and support athletes effectively in various Special Olympic sports.
