THE Ohangwena Magistrate’s Court on Monday denied bail to the woman accused of having beaten to death her nephew about two years ago and then secretly buried his body in a shallow grave in a mahangu field.
The crime remained a secret to many until last week, when it was exposed.

According to Ohangwena police regional commander commissioner Elizabeth Sibolile, the accused Hilde Kalola (39), from Okakwa village near Ongha, killed Johannes Nghilifavali Nghidimbwa then aged 16, during December 2018, after accusing him of stealing N$ 500 from her.
After confronting him, she allegedly overpowered the deceased, tied him to a bed in a hut and started assaulting him viciously with an electric cord.

The teenager was so badly beaten that he died instantly.
