Okahandja to pay 100 plots for incorrect rates

SCANDAL-RIDDEN Okahandja municipality has offered to bleed 100 plots in a settlement agreement in which the council was being sued by property developer, Andries Bezuidenhout for approximately N$2 million.
A letter seen by Confidente in which the municipality’s acting chief executive officer George Mwazi is seeking ministerial approval to dish out the plots shows that the municipality only acknowledged to being indebted to Bezuidenhout an amount of N$935 931 for the incorrect rates applied in alienating nine plots in terms of deed of sale over Erf 674 Extension 1 Okahandja and for the 11 plots serviced by Bezuidenhout for the benefit of the municipality.
