Ongos men, Ladies set for history-making season

FOR the first time in Namibian football history, two teams, from the same institution are in contention for league honours in both the men’s and women’s leagues.
Ongos FC leads the Debmarine Premiership, while Ongos Ladies dominate the FNB Women’s Super League.
Ongos FC are on top of the Debmarine Premiership with 45 points, followed by defending champions African Stars with 44 points and Khomas NamPol with 41 points, while in the FNB WSL, Ongos Ladies leads with 31 points, followed by Beauties in second place with 25 points and NamPol in third with 24 points.
Girls and Goals is in fourth place with 23 points and one game.
With the two teams dominating their respective football leagues, they are also expected to be among the contenders to win the Pstbet Namibia Football Association (NFA) Cup.
They also vied for qualification for the Confederations of African Football (CAF) Champions League’s preliminary rounds.
