Oshikoto police station incomplete
…Residents say crime is soaring

THE residents of Okankolo and neighbouring constituencies are seething at government for the incompletion of the Oshikoto police station facility six years after its construction began.
Construction of the facility – a class C police station at Onkumbula center in the Okankolo constituency in Oshikoto region started in May 2017 and was supposed to have been completed in 2018.
Then state of the art police station was estimated to cost N$50 million was envisaged to be the second largest police station in the region after the Oshikoto police headquarters, equipped with offices, barracks, accommodation for senior police officers, inmate cells and a filling station for police vehicles.
The police station would also have a kraal where the anti- stock theft unit would keep stolen animals.
