OTA, NTLA intensify reparations campaign

AS the Ovaherero Traditional Authority (OTA), through its transitional committee and the Nama Traditional Leaders Association (NTLA) prepare to intensify with their joint genocide reparation campaign, following the death of Ovaherero Paramount Chief Advocate Vekuii Rukoro, the two communities recently announced the appointment of new torchbearers.
NTLA Chief and chairman, Gaob Johannes Isaack, was appointed as a substantive litigant and chairperson in the joint Ovaherero – Nama genocide reparation campaign and litigation. He will be deputised by OTA secretary, Mutjinde Katjiua.
“Professor Mutjinde Katjiua is appointed and endorsed as the Co-Litigant and Deputy Chairperson on behalf of the Ovaherero community, thus will henceforth deputise Gaob Isaack in all matters of genocide reparation campaign and litigation,” a joint NTLA and OTA statement reads.
