PACON honours Nama commander, Abraham Morris

THE PanAfrikan Centre of Namibia (PACON) and Office of the Deputy Minister of Finance in collaboration with the Bondelswarts community, descendants of Abraham Morris and Keetmanshoop Municipality Museum are looking at marking the Centenary Commemoration of the legendary icon, Abraham Morris.

One hundred years ago, there was the bombing of the Bondelswarts by the colonisers using De Havilland DH-9 bomber mounted machine guns; used for the first time against indigenous people in the then German Southwest Africa.

“We consider it a significant part of the untold Namibian history and will start by way of a hybrid symposium by academia and historians and exhibitions at the Keetmanshoop Municipality Museum to mark this series of events,” PACON said in a statement.
