Police to tackle crimes through community engagement

THE Namibian police are finding ways to decrease crimes by reaching out to the community and forming a relationship between community members and police agencies through outreach programmes.
Last week, the deputy inspector general for operations Joseph Shikongo together with the Khomas regional commander Commissioner Ismael Basson and 10 other police officials spent three days in Sesriem and Sossusvlei in the Hardap region where they addressed more than 600 people including lodge owners and community members to discuss different issues that the community faces daily.
