Prisons transform offender management

THE Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) is gradually transforming from punitive incarceration of offenders into an institution of rehabilitation intending to reintegrate offenders back into society as law-abiding citizens upon the completion of their sentences.
Speaking to Confidente this week, Petrus YaKanime an instructor with the NCS stated that female inmates have been placed in different structured rehabilitation programmes and support services which have been designed to address the offenders on criminal risk factors.
