Private schools under severe strain

… as Covid-19 bites

Most private schools in the North are feeling the pinch of the Covid-19 pandemic with many of them losing pupils to government schools because parents can no longer afford school fees owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

On top of that, the schools are also finding it difficult to remunerate teachers and other supporting staff. Confidente spoke to several directors of northern based private schools who expressed concern about the future of their schools due to fiscal challenges brought by the pandemic.
