Namundjebo who is a graduate of the Windhoek Vocational Training Centre is a passionate believer in supporting her local community in particular the youth and it is against this background that the company is aiming at becoming the leading brand in manufacturing, installations and service in the woodworking industry and joinery work.

Kathy’s Joinery & Renovation cc is registered with the Ministry of Industrialisation, Trade and Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development, Ministry of Finance, SME certificate and Social Security Commission since 2012.

Namundjebo said that the company strives to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and relevance while also promoting government objectives of reducing unemployment of disadvantaged youths, women groups to include the disabled, and promote economic growth in line with government objectives of reaching a middle class by 2030.

“I have 12 apprentices, eight are male and four are female.  They are here on an internship programme. They are from Windhoek Vocational Training Centre. I am a graduate myself from VTC and I graduated in 2011. I just want to make a big difference in the society especially for women as this industry is predominantly run by men,” said Namundjebo.

Namundjebo also said that she started the enterprise after seeing the negative impact of unemployment amongst youth and the disabled.

“We at Kathy’s Joinery & Renovations cc are looking at the courage, abilities, attitude, the passion and ambitions of all youth and vulnerable groups of the disabled youths. The objective and purpose of our training is to alleviate unemployment of young populations and the disabled to get a chance of employment and self distance leading to social and economic development in a Namibia already in the mood to drive the economy aspiring to reach middle class economy by 2030.

“We encourage all youth and the disabled to apply for enrolment for 2021 intake starting in January. A country can only be developed through skills training and this is the mission of Kathy’s Joinery & Renovations cc,” said Namundjebo.
