Rehoboth dep mayor in the eye of a storm

THE Rehoboth Town council has requested the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development for council recommendation to suspend deputy mayor, Leilani Uiras, Confidente can exclusively reveal.

This is subsequent to a ‘special’ meeting held on February 1 2022 to deliberate the origin of a letter that approved to serve as guarantor to any financial institution intending to grant a loan to Stanford Lukas of Jacquin Consulting Agency that would see the agency developing and servicing 760 residential erven, 24 general residential erven, two business erven and two institutional erven on a total area of 71.7 hectares.

Uiras allegedly signed the letter of guarantor that states, “We as RTC are standing in as guarantor for Jacquin Consulting Agency and Developments for the amount of US$6.5 million” on a town council letterhead.
